Needham Woodworks • FAQ

Ordering

Q: How do I place an order?
A: Order directly on our website. Once your order is in, we will contact you the same business day to confirm details and make sure you get exactly what you want.

Q: What happens after I order?
A: We schedule a quick design review call or email walkthrough. We will confirm size, wood, edge profile, brass details, finish, delivery timing, and any special requests.

Q: Are these tables always available?
A: We work in limited production runs to maintain quality. Ordering now secures a spot in the current build cycle.

Q: What if I wait to order?
A: Your order may move to the next production run, which can extend delivery timelines by several months.

Product Options and Materials

Q: What woods do you use?
A: Solid black American walnut and solid white oak. Walnut gives a rich, warm tone with expressive grain. White oak reads crisp and classic.

Q: What are the Lani Dines design options?
A: One, two, or three brass inlays, a split top, or a channeled split top. All options are solid hardwood with real brass accents that run the length of the table.

Q: What edge profiles can I choose?
A: Straight edge for a crisp outline, or deep chamfer for a sculpted look with light and shadow.

Q: Is this veneer or solid wood?
A: Solid hardwood throughout. No veneers on tops, aprons, or legs.

Design and Customization

Q: Can I customize my table?
A: Yes. We build to order. During the same-day review we confirm size, wood, brass layout, edge profile, and finish so your table fits your space and style.

Q: Can you match other pieces in my home?
A: We can align tone and finish. Share a photo or reference and we will advise.

Q: Do you make matching pieces?
A: Yes. We offer matching benches, and we take commissions for credenzas, sideboards, desks, media cabinets, and music-inspired furniture.

Sizing and Fit

Q: What size should I choose for my room?
A: As a simple guide, leave at least 36 inches of clearance around the table for chairs and movement. Tell us your room size and seating goals and we will recommend a length and width.

Q: What if the table does not fit?
A: Before building, we review your dimensions and layout. If you want help before ordering, reach out and we will size it with you.

Pricing and Payment

Q: How much does the Lani Dines cost?
A: Pricing starts at 5,000 USD, with options that can adjust the final price. Every piece is solid hardwood, built to last for generations.

Q: Do you offer financing?
A: You can use Shop Pay or your preferred credit provider at checkout.

Q: Why is the table more expensive than mass-market options?
A: You are buying solid hardwood, real brass, and heirloom construction from a small workshop in San Francisco. It is built to be repaired and handed down, not replaced.

Shipping and Delivery

Q: What is the lead time?
A: Typical lead time is 10 to 12 weeks. This reflects made-to-order production, hand finishing, and quality control.

Q: Do you ship outside the Bay Area?
A: Yes, across the United States. Local orders include in-home delivery and setup. For other regions we use experienced freight partners for white-glove delivery.

Q: How will my table be protected in transit?
A: We use padded, custom packaging and carriers who specialize in fine furniture.

Warranty, Care, and Policies

Q: Do you offer a warranty?
A: Yes. Lifetime craftsmanship guarantee. If there is ever a construction issue, we repair or replace.

Q: What is your return policy?
A: Each piece is made to order, so we do not accept returns. If anything arrives damaged or not as expected, contact us right away and we will make it right.

Q: How do I care for my table?
A: Wipe with a soft, slightly damp cloth, then dry. Use coasters and trivets. Avoid harsh cleaners and prolonged heat or moisture. We can provide a care kit on request.

Luxury and Lifestyle

Q: What makes Lani Dines different?
A: Solid hardwood, hand finishing, and brass details with modern proportions. It is designed to anchor a room and to age with character.

Q: Is this really an heirloom piece?
A: Yes. Materials and joinery are chosen for decades of daily use. Patina will tell your home’s story over time.

Q: Is it good for entertaining?
A: Yes. The trestle design gives generous legroom and stable support. It seats large groups comfortably and still feels intimate for smaller dinners.

Comparisons and Objections

Q: I found a cheaper table online. Why choose this one?
A: Many cheaper tables are veneer over engineered cores. They look good for a while, then age quickly. Lani Dines is solid wood and brass with serviceable finishes. It is built to be repaired, not replaced.

Q: What if something happens after I buy?
A: Contact us. We stand behind the work and will help with repair, refinishing, or adjustments.

Contact

Q: Can I talk to a person?
A: Yes. Email or call us and we will respond quickly. After any order, we reach out the same business day to review details.

Q: Can you help me choose options?
A: Absolutely. Share your room size, seating needs, and any inspiration photos. We will recommend a size, wood, edge profile, and brass layout that fits.

Fun, just in case

Q: Tell me something from the shop.
A: The walnut we use often comes from trees that lived for a century or more. Good wood is patient. Good furniture should be too.

Q: Tell me a joke.
A: Why did the table go to therapy? It had commitment issues with leaf extensions. 😉
